Cowan to Brooklyn

Today we set out for a relaxing Sunday hike from Cowan to Brooklyn – a section of the Great North Walk (13.4km, 654m).

I’d clearly made the walk sound too relaxing as one participant showed up with a plastic bag containing a 600ml bottle of water and a packet of burger rings! He managed to also produce a bag of nuts, a spare singlet (?!?) and sunscreen from his short pockets to ease my anxiety levels a smidgeon.

It’s a pleasant walk with an opportunity early on to go for a swim (if you can find somewhere to get in that isn’t already occupied by oysters!) Plus there are interesting rocks and flora to behold.

The view from our lunch spot and a little further on.

Here, the final view before the descent and wandering past the Dam.

We arrived in Brooklyn just moments before the first spot of rain and conveniently with 37 mins to spare for a beer at the pub! Thanks everyone for coming along.
